Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Málaga Live (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit malagalivepulse.com or use our services. Málaga Live is a live-music “what’s on” media brand covering Málaga city and Costa del Sol, operated by The Reid Group LLC. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
We aim to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Spanish data-protection law. If you have any questions, contact us at sofia@malagalivepulse.com.
1. What we collect
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address (and the language of the page you signed up on) when you subscribe to our weekly newsletter.
- Advertisers (gutter ads): business name, contact email, website/booking link, your uploaded logo, an optional tagline, and the billing details you provide at checkout (handled by our payment processor — we do not see or store full card numbers).
- Membership & talent forms (Prime, Talent Square): the details you submit, such as venue/business name, email, and any information you choose to include.
- Anti-spam verification: when you submit a form we use a bot-protection challenge, which may process limited technical signals to confirm you are not an automated bot.
- Usage analytics: privacy-friendly, aggregated statistics about page visits (no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no attempt to identify you personally).
- Technical logs: standard server information such as IP address, browser type and time of request, kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers on the site.
2. Why we use it & legal bases
- To send the newsletter you asked for — on the basis of your consent (you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email).
- To provide and bill paid services (advertising, membership) — on the basis of performing our contract with you.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to understand aggregate usage — on the basis of our legitimate interests in running a safe, reliable service.
- To respond to your emails and requests — on the basis of your consent or our legitimate interest in answering you.
3. Service providers we share data with
We use a small number of trusted providers (“processors”) to run the service. They only process data on our instructions:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Netlify | Website hosting and delivery |
| Hetzner | Backend server that runs our automation and sends service emails |
| Stripe | Payment processing & subscription billing for advertisers |
| MailerLite | Sending the email newsletter |
| Airtable | Securely storing sign-up, advertiser and membership records |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Bot/spam protection on forms |
| Plausible Analytics | Cookieless, privacy-friendly usage statistics |
| Google (YouTube) | Embedded video players (privacy-enhanced mode) |
Each provider has its own privacy policy and security measures. Some are based outside the European Economic Area (for example in the United States); where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
4. Cookies & tracking
Our site is built to use as few cookies as possible. Our analytics are cookieless and do not track you across other websites. When you play an embedded YouTube video, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies; we use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced (“no-cookie”) mode to reduce this. Some essential functions (such as form security and remembering your language) may use minimal local storage on your device.
5. External links
Event listings link out to third-party ticketing and venue websites. Once you leave malagalivepulse.com, this Privacy Policy no longer applies — please review the privacy policy of the site you visit.
6. How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected: newsletter data until you unsubscribe; advertiser and membership records for the life of the relationship plus any period required for accounting, tax and legal obligations; and technical logs for a short period for security. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed.
7. Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out). To exercise any of these rights, email sofia@malagalivepulse.com and we will respond within the time required by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD, aepd.es).
8. Children
Our service is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected on this page.
